About

________

Jenny Wayne, the founder of ‘Behind the Behaviour’, has worked with children and adolescents for over thirty years in various settings, most recently at The Priory Hospital Chelmsford and CAMHS. She has experience of working with a wide range of issues that children, adolescents and families might be struggling with and has also worked with children across the whole of society including vulnerable groups and young offenders.

Every person is unique as is the therapy that will suit them.

As well as working therapeutically with young people, ‘Behind the Behaviour’ delivers training and workshops for parents & carers and professionals to help you understand the mental health needs behind behaviour and how best to address it.

Jenny’s qualifications:

MA integrative child & adolescent counselling psychotherapy
EMDR therapist in training
UKCP accredited.
Teacher of Dance, Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Dancing.

All services are led by professionals in the field of child & adolescent mental health with experience in CAMHS, youth offending and tier 4 inpatient units, as well as vast experience with young people, other professionals and parents.

Whether it is therapy for a young person, training for professionals e.g schools, social care, businesses or parenting groups, ‘Behind the Behaviour’ will improve communication and understanding of how to manage difficulties, through tried and tested therapeutic techniques.

I worked professionally with Jenny for two years and found her to be a wonderfully thoughtful and compassionate clinician. Jenny always seeks to hear the child’s voice and to help the child to feel heard. Jenny not only seeks to connect with the child but also with those in the child’s system. She aims to work with carers in a non-judgemental way to help them understand the messages their child may be communicating through behaviour that other people can find difficult to understand and manage. Jenny is a containing and calming presence who can make a significant and lasting difference to the lives of the people she works with.
